Spring Cleaning for your Hard Drive

Spring cleaning isn’t just for your basement and closets. It’s a great idea to try spring cleaning your computer! If you’re not already backing up your computer on a regular basis, now is a great time to start. Accidents happen, and whether it’s an unauthorized user that has accidentally deleted your photo library or an ill-placed can of Mountain Dew that has coated your motherboard in a sticky goo, you’re going to wish you had backed up your system if ever an accident occurs.

Of course, cleaning your system can also greatly enhance your computer’s performance. Transferring old data, family photos or downloaded movies to a fibre channel hard drive or Seagate tape drive can free up tremendous space on your computer. While you could also burn a lot of information onto a CD, if you’re like most folks out there, after a few months you’ll be drowning in a sea of CD-Rs and DVD-Rs. While these types of storage devices are great for less prolific techies, those of you with thousands of music files, movies or photos should consider adding a hard drive to their system to house these types of files.
